Ensemble Constantinople, led by Kiya Tabassian, presents "Oum Kalthoum & the Quatrains of Khayyam" at Toronto's Meridian Arts Centre. With singer Ghalia Benali, it revisits Riad El Sonbati's compositions and the Persian poetry of Omar Khayyam, bridging Arab and Persian traditions. A musical dialogue between Sufi poetry and contemporary arrangement.
