A Toronto institution renowned for its outstanding acoustics, Massey Hall opened in 1894 on Victoria Street, a gift to the city from industrialist Hart Massey. Long the home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981. Following a major restoration completed in 2021, the main hall seats around 2,500 for concerts, comedy and a wide range of live events.
