Home to the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Winspear Centre is a concert hall opened in 1997 on downtown's Sir Winston Churchill Square. Renowned for its acoustics, it seats 1,668, or up to 1,884 with the choir loft. In 2002 the Davis Concert Organ, built by Orgues Letourneau of Quebec with 6,551 pipes, was installed. The hall is named for Francis Winspear, whose landmark donation funded its construction.
