Palestinian director Muayad Alayan's Conversation with the Sea screens at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto for its North American premiere at TIFF 2026. In Jerusalem,
60-year-old Kamal is ordered by an Israeli court to settle a debt owed by his son Wael, who drowned in the Red Sea decades earlier and was never officially declared dead. Kamel El Basha, Volpi Cup winner in 2017, leads.
