Semi-final #1 of the Ligue nationale d'improvisation takes place at MTELUS in Montreal, a playoff round of French-language improv theatre. After the regular season, LNI teams meet in the playoffs for a place in the final. The format has not changed since 1977: a rink, a referee, themes drawn at random and an audience vote after every improvised scene.
