Ibrahim Maalouf — French-Lebanese trumpeter born in Beirut in 1980 — plays Ottawa. Inventor of the four-valve trumpet (designed by his father Nassim Maalouf) that lets him play the quarter-tones of Arabic music, he blends jazz, classical, Middle Eastern music and electronics. Composer of film scores (Yves Saint Laurent, La Vache, Vénus), French Victoires de la Musique winner in 2011 and 2014.
