About this event
Chula, Alexandra Lainfiesta's play, gets a sensory-informed performance at the Citadel Theatre's Rice Theatre in Edmonton. Opening backstage in 2008 as Aria prepares to premiere Canada's first mariachi opera, the story travels back to 1980s Guatemala and 1990s Edmonton, tracing survival, family and assimilation. Staged in English and Spanish, with 90s karaoke hits.
