Alt-rock concert from CAKE at Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Formed in Sacramento, John McCrea's band trades in a one-of-a-kind sound of talk-sung vocals, mariachi trumpet and dry, wiry guitars. The setlist leans on their signature hits — "The Distance" from 1996's Fashion Nugget and "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" from 2001's Comfort Eagle. A deadpan, groove-driven live night in the downtown Vancouver theatre.
