Yamato: The Drummers of Japan

Founded in 1993 in Nara, Japan, Wadaiko Yamato brings the art of taiko drumming to stages around the world. The troupe channels astonishing physical energy across some forty traditional drums, including the massive 'odaiko' carved from a four-century-old tree. With thousands of performances in more than fifty countries, the ensemble has been honoured at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
