Events at The Butchart Gardens

Twenty-one kilometres north of Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula, the Butchart Gardens grew out of a worked-out limestone quarry that Jennie Butchart began replanting in 1904, the origin of the celebrated Sunken Garden. Rose, Japanese, Italian and Mediterranean gardens followed. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2004 for its centenary, the estate also runs an outdoor Concert Lawn with live entertainment on summer evenings.
