Events at Alix Goolden Performance Hall

900 Johnson St, Victoria// V8V 3N4

★ 4.5 231 Google reviews

Built in 1890 as a church sanctuary by Victoria architect Thomas Hooper, this hall became the Victoria Conservatory of Music's concert room when the institution bought the building in 1997, on Johnson Street downtown. It is named for Alix Goolden, the conservatory's founder. Its 800 places, 440 on the main floor, 360 on the mezzanine, sit beneath a 40-foot vaulted ceiling, among iron railings, wooden pews and original stained glass that give the room its prized natural acoustics.
