A theatre on Commercial Drive in East Vancouver, opened in 1913 as the Alcazar Theatre to a design by architect J. McCarter. Renamed the York in 1940, when its Art Deco ticket booth was added, it went through a century of live theatre, punk shows and Bollywood screenings. Saved from demolition and restored in 2013, it is now The Cultch's third stage, with about 365 seats, a fly tower, an orchestra pit and a traditional proscenium.
