A pub and live-music room at 769 East Hastings Street in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. The building opened in 1913 as the Toronto House Apartments and became the Astoria Hotel in 1950. Long a quiet neighbourhood beer parlour, it reinvented itself as one of East Vancouver's landmark small stages: punk, hardcore and rock bills, rotating DJs and weekly dance parties, with booking that leaves plenty of room for touring underground acts and local independents.
