A multi-purpose stadium in Central Park in Burnaby, in the Vancouver area, opened on April 26, 1969. Named after sports journalist Erwin Swangard, who raised nearly a million dollars for its construction, Swangard Stadium seats about 5,288 and is used mainly for soccer, rugby and athletics.
