The Rio Theatre is a historic multimedia venue in East Vancouver, on East Broadway. Opened in 1938 as an Art Deco cinema, it served over the years as a bowling alley and a movie house before adding live music and performing arts from 2008. Fully restored and seating 420, this award-winning independent venue presents arthouse and cult cinema, concerts and comedy.
