The Bloedel Conservatory is an indoor tropical garden perched atop Queen Elizabeth Park, the highest point in the city of Vancouver. Beneath its dome, three climate zones (tropical, subtropical and desert) host more than 500 plant species, free-flying tropical birds and koi fish in a temperature-controlled environment. Opened in 1969 thanks to a gift from Prentice Bloedel, the heritage building is jointly operated by the Vancouver Park Board and the Vancouver Botanical Garden Association.
