Events at Velvet Underground

For roughly three decades, the Velvet Underground at 508 Queen Street West was a fixture of Toronto's alternative music scene. Opened in 1995 as a goth and industrial club, it grew into an intimate concert room that welcomed Alanis Morissette, HEALTH and Xiu Xiu alongside countless local and emerging bands. The venue closed on October 31, 2025, when its lease ended, and the nightclub Hyve has occupied the space since February 2026.
