Events at The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres

On Yonge Street in downtown Toronto, the Elgin and Winter Garden complex is the last operating double-decker theatre in the world: two stacked auditoriums joined by a grand staircase. The lower Elgin opened in 1913 and seats 1,538; the upper Winter Garden, adorned with foliage and lanterns, seats 982. Designated a National Historic Site in 1982 and restored in 1989, it hosts theatre, concerts and comedy.
