Roy Thomson Hall is an iconic concert hall in downtown Toronto, instantly recognizable for its dramatic glass shell designed by architect Arthur Erickson. Opened on 13 September 1982, it was named for a $4.5-million donation from the Thomson family. Its 2,630 seats across floor, mezzanine and balcony make it home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. A major acoustic renovation was completed in 2002.
