Metropolitan United Church stands on Queen Street East, on the green block of McGill Square in downtown Toronto. Built from 1870 and dedicated in 1872, its interior was rebuilt in 1929 after a fire the previous year. It houses Canada's largest pipe organ, a five-manual Casavant from 1930, and North America's first tuned carillon, installed in 1922 and since expanded to 54 bells. Its acoustics draw choirs, brass ensembles and sacred music concerts.
