Lake Louise Ski Resort spreads across Whitehorn Mountain in Banff National Park. Skiers have used these slopes since the 1920s, when the area served as the gateway to Skoki Lodge; the first lift went up in 1954, and the runs on both sides of the mountain were merged under the Lake Louise name in 1971. Its gondola runs in winter and summer, carrying sightseers to viewpoints over Lake Louise and the Bow Valley.
