The National Arts Centre is Canada's leading performing arts complex, on Elgin Street in downtown Ottawa near the Rideau Canal. Opened in 1969, it houses several halls, including Southam Hall, and is home to the NAC Orchestra. Renovated around 2017 with a new glass facade, it presents concerts, theatre, dance, comedy and bilingual events year-round.
