Pointe-à-Callière, the Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History, is a museum in Old Montreal built on the very site where the city was founded, at Place Royale. Opened in 1992 for Montreal's 350th anniversary, it is Canada's foremost archaeology museum. Its underground routes reveal authentic remains alongside First Nations, French and British collections. The museum welcomes more than 350,000 visitors a year.
