The largest church in Montreal after Notre-Dame Basilica and Saint Joseph's Oratory, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church overlooks Rachel Street East in the Plateau-Mont-Royal district. The present Baroque-inspired building was consecrated in 1915 after two successive fires. Its sumptuous interior, adorned with stained glass by Guido Nincheri, and its remarkable acoustics make it a favoured setting for Candlelight concerts and recitals.
