Halifax's waterfront runs nearly four kilometres of wooden boardwalk along the harbour, from the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 to Casino Nova Scotia, one of the longest urban boardwalks anywhere. In summer it is the city's living room: the Halifax Busker Festival, marking forty years in 2026, sets up its stages here, the jazz festival plays by the water and tall ships tie up at the piers. Year-round it strings together wharves, patios and excursion boats.
