Clarke Stadium is a soccer stadium located next to Commonwealth Stadium in east Edmonton. Originally built in 1938 and named for Mayor Joseph Clarke, it hosted the Edmonton Eskimos from 1949 to 1978 before being rebuilt in 2000 as a secondary venue for the 2001 World Championships in Athletics. Its current capacity is around 5,000, and it serves as a home for soccer and amateur sporting events.
