Stampede Park, southeast of downtown Calgary in the Beltline district, is the sprawling grounds that have hosted the legendary Calgary Stampede since the exhibition's roots as an 1886 agricultural fair. The site stages over a thousand events a year, including concerts, sporting events and trade shows, and features historic buildings such as the Stampede Corral (1950) and the Saddledome, landmarks of Western Canada's festival heritage.
