Wild Mushroom Foraging Class

Explore the world of edible wild mushrooms on this foraging 101 walking outing through the rainforests of British Columbia. Your wildcraft and myco guide will show you how to safely identify the local wild mushrooms; sought-after varieties such as porcini, chanterelle and lobster mushrooms are among the many edibles that may turn up. We will point out every fungus we come across during an easy stroll through the lush forest understory, and we will talk about cooking, preservation techniques and harvesting stories. Keep in mind that this is not a harvesting trip but a class that teaches you how to find and safely identify edible wild mushrooms. We look at and examine the mushrooms right where they grow, since harvesting is illegal in parks.
