Toronto Operetta Theatre stages La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein, Jacques Offenbach's operetta, at the Jane Mallett Theatre in Toronto. First seen in Paris in 1867, it skewers military pomp and court intrigue through a duchess who falls for a common soldier. The 497-seat theatre sits inside the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts on Front Street East.
