About this event
Chinese director Xu Zao's debut feature Light Pillar, a hand-drawn 2D animation, screens at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto during TIFF 2026. In an endless winter, Lao Zha is the last caretaker of a failing film studio; unable to pay him, the owner hands him a virtual reality headset instead. The film premiered in Berlin before this North American premiere.
