The Black Angels at The Concert Hall

The Black Angels — Austin, Texas psych-rock band fronted by Alex Maas since 2004 — plays The Concert Hall in Toronto, the former Masonic Temple on Yonge Street. Walls of fuzz, drone, sitar and Vox organ in the lineage of The Velvet Underground, the 13th Floor Elevators and Brian Jonestown Massacre. Seven albums in (Passover, Phosphene Dream, Wilderness of Mirrors), with an immersive ~90-minute set mixing new songs and classics, plus strobe-heavy and kaleidoscopic visuals.
