This program is designed as a celebration of the countless life-giving qualities and the rich resources that the ocean has provided to the Coast Salish peoples since time immemorial. By highlighting and embracing Indigenous values, practices and knowledge, it opens up a more resilient path toward environmental stewardship, climate resilience and reconciliation. Recognizing this age-old bond between the ocean and the Coast Salish peoples also means honouring the understanding passed down through the generations and the central place this relationship holds in community life. It is in this spirit that the experience invites you to take a renewed look at the abundance the sea has always offered and at what it continues to represent today.
