Toronto's Canadian Children's Opera Company sings its afternoon winter program, Song for a Winter's Day, at Jane Mallett Theatre in the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts. Drawing on Susan Cooper's poem The Shortest Day, the young singers explore midwinter customs, evergreen-hung homes, bonfires and dancing against the dark, in a matinee performance.
