A Pakistani master of qawwali, the Sufi devotional music tradition, he took up the mantle of his uncle, the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, in 1997. Also a playback singer for Indian and Pakistani cinema, he won acclaim with "Afreen Afreen," the first Pakistani track to top 300 million views.
