It was on the Plains of Abraham, on September 13, 1759, that the fate of New France was decided. Yet the many sieges and battles that unfolded both before and after this turning point shaped Quebec's military heritage as well. That heritage is still plainly visible today and forms an integral part of the city's architecture and local culture.
