Montreal Queerstory Tour

The QUEERSTORY tour brings back to life the days when Montreal's LGBTQ2+ establishments were clustered in the west end of downtown. Through true stories, in which we name the people involved, we look back on the history, both terrible and fabulous, of Montreal's queer people and institutions. You'll hear about the bars, the police raids, the parties, the cruising, the protests, the lives lost and the battles won that paved the way to what we know today. This walk through collective memory shines a light on a little-known chapter of the city's history, one of the struggles and triumphs of a community long pushed to the margins. Between painful memories and moments of pride, this guided route honours those who shaped, day after day, the richness of queer life in Montreal and the long road travelled to reach the present moment.
