A double bill at the Meridian Arts Centre (George Weston Recital Hall): Mali Obomsawin, an Abenaki bassist and singer from Odanak, blending free-jazz, rock and Indigenous American folk; and Ahmed Moneka, an Iraqi-Canadian artist whose Arabic jazz weaves Iraqi, East African and Toronto influences. Two roots voices, one night of cross-cultural sound.
