London septet Kokoroko (named for the Nigerian Urhobo word meaning 'hard to break'), founded in 2014 by trumpeter-singer Sheila Maurice-Grey and percussionist Onome Edgeworth. Masters of African fusion — Fela Kuti-style Afrobeat, highlife, jazz, modern funk. On Brownswood Recordings (Gilles Peterson), latest album Tuff Times Never Last (2025).
