Halifax on Foot: The Waterfront, Pier 21 and the Titanic Story

A small-group guided walk along the Halifax waterfront, put together with first-time visitors in mind. The route takes in Pier 21, the doorway into Canada for more than a million immigrants, where the accounts of those who landed there are retold. It pauses beside the CSS Acadia, a historic vessel moored in the harbour, and revisits two chapters that shaped the city: its connection to the Titanic and the 1917 Explosion. Between harbour viewpoints, the group crosses busy waterfront districts and a few quieter spots pointed out along the way. A stop at the COWS ice cream shop adds a tasting to the itinerary. History, local flavour and open water views alternate from one stop to the next.
