Grand Marché and Montmorency Falls, Private Guided Visit

A two-part private outing in Québec City: first the aisles of the Grand Marché, then Montmorency Falls in the grip of winter. The market is where the region's growers, makers and artisans stand behind their own counters, and where the depth of Québec's food traditions becomes something you can taste rather than read about. Depending on who is there, you may talk with people working in artisanal cheese, local charcuterie, maple products, fresh berries and preserves, chocolate, pastry, cider and wine, alongside plenty of other regional specialties. The second half of the visit shifts scenery entirely. Falling temperatures rework the ground around the falls into snow-covered cliffs, frozen rock formations and huge build-ups of ice, a harsh and dramatic setting. There is time to study the cataract from several vantage points, take photographs, and see how a severe northern climate reshapes a powerful natural landmark.
