The On This Spot app invites visitors on guided walking tours through the history that surrounds them. At each stage of their route, users find themselves standing on the very spot where a historic photograph was once taken. From there, they can bring up a side-by-side comparison of the image from the past and the scene as it looks today, use the built-in camera to create their own version of the shot, and then read up on local history and how it fits into the wider human experience.
