About this event

Leading this private walking tour of Calgary is a native Calgarian writer, documentary producer and historian. His work has carried him from London and Paris to German monasteries and Middle Eastern political circles, always chasing the human stories tucked behind politics, landscapes and recorded events. That same appetite for detail and narrative now shapes how he presents Calgary and Southern Alberta on foot. He has built dramatic projects out of the region's early history, including extensive research into the province's first cattle drives and the ranching culture they left behind. His interests run toward social history and the original voices that made the West what it became: cowboys, railway workers, immigrants, Indigenous communities, drifters, entrepreneurs and political outsiders. Rather than keeping the past at a formal distance, he digs into the lived experience of ordinary people and the atmosphere they moved through.
