Black & Jazz History of Montreal with Ruby Roy, Licensed Guide

As the only licensed expert guide in Montreal and a woman of colour in the province of Québec, I'll take you through the Black history of Montreal, from the 1600s to the present day. I share my

25-plus years of knowledge, experience and research on Montreal's unique Black history, the history of jazz, the prohibition era and the role of the railway in that story. I began leading Black history, jazz and neighbourhood tours in 1997. Only guests and their own party take part in the tour. The pace adjusts to the guests': it's a leisurely walk. As a private tour, guests have full access to their guide for two hours. If you're interested, I provide suggested reading material, activities and recommendations on places to eat.
