"Weird Al" Yankovic, born Alfred Matthew Yankovic in Downey, California, in 1959, is pop music's best-known parodist and its most famous accordion player. Since the 1980s he has rewritten the hits of the day — Eat It, Like a Surgeon, Amish Paradise, White & Nerdy — with obsessive musical precision. His 2014 album Mandatory Fun became the first comedy record ever to top the Billboard 200.
