Victoria Symphony

The Victoria Symphony was founded in 1941 by members of the Royal Canadian Navy and gave its first concert in May 1942 in the ballroom of the Empress Hotel. Now Vancouver Island's largest performing arts organisation, it carries some forty contracted musicians and is led by Danish conductor Christian Kluxen. Its season ranges from core symphonic repertoire to film scores and outdoor summer concerts.
