The Musical Box

The Musical Box is a Genesis tribute production founded in Montreal in 1993. Rather than simply covering the songs, the troupe rebuilds the British band's historic tours down to the period costumes, instruments and staging. It is the only Genesis tribute to have received the original group's active support and permission: Tony Banks gave the members access to The Farm studio to study the master tapes, and their reconstruction of the 1974-75 tour used the original 1,200 projection slides and the original slide operator. Steve Hackett has joined them on stage at the Royal Albert Hall, and Peter Gabriel brought his children to an early UK date. The 2026 show, “...and then there was... Phil”, covers the 1976-1980 era and recreates the 1978 Mirrors tour set.
