British industrial music pioneers Test Dept formed in south London in 1981. The collective built a percussive sound from scrap metal and machinery, pairing striking performances with fierce political engagement, notably in support of striking UK miners. Split in 1997 and later reunited, they bring their metallic clangour back to the stage.
