Stella Standingbear

Stella Standingbear - born Esparanza Stella Standing Bear - is a rapper and songwriter and an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Nation. Raised largely in Salt Lake City, she now lives on the Pine Ridge Reservation. In 2023 she became the first Lakota artist to take home two International Indigenous Hip-Hop Awards in Vancouver, winning Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Music Video of the Year for her debut single Home Runs. Her alt-rap, R&B and pop blend leans on themes of healing and justice, and she is a vocal advocate for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement.
