sombr is the stage name of Shane Michael Boose, an American singer, songwriter and producer born in 2005 and raised on New York's Lower East Side — the name folds in his initials, SMB. After his 2021 debut single and the EP “In Another Life”, he broke through in 2025 with the album “I Barely Know Her”, whose singles “back to friends” and “undressed” both cracked the Billboard Hot 100 top 20. His melancholic pop-rock earned him a Best New Artist nomination at the 68th Grammy Awards.
