Founded in 1998 by conductor Nurhan Arman, Sinfonia Toronto is a chamber orchestra of virtuoso strings who perform standing, in the tradition of Europe's great chamber ensembles. Its programmes span the Baroque to contemporary Canadian music, presented at the Jane Mallett Theatre and George Weston Recital Hall and on tour across Ontario. The orchestra won a Juno Award for Flanders Fields Reflections, a recording of works by Canadian composer John Burge.
